Ingredients
2 cups plus more for dusting Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 Baking Flour - GF
1/3 cup Hershey's Cocoa Powder - GF
1 tablespoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder - GF
1/2 cup Nestle Chocolate Chips - GF
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon orange zest
8 tablespoons butter plus more for greasing, chilled and cut into small cubes
1/2 cup whole milk
1 large egg, beaten
a handful fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place a parchment paper on a baking sheet and slightly grease with butter.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, salt and orange zest. Add the butter and incorporate by hand. Followed by half of the chocolate chips.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Then slowly add with the flour mixture. Mix well.
- Sprinkle some flour on a work surface. Mold the dough into 1 inch thick disk.
- Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Gently precut/divide the dough into 8 equal part.
- Arrange the sliced strawberries on top. Then sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips.
- Bake from 40-45 minutes or until cooked through.
- Let the cool before serving.
