Easy gluten-free chocolate-strawberry scones.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups plus more for dusting Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 Baking Flour - GF
  • ⅓ cup Hershey's Cocoa Powder - GF
  • 1 tablespoon Clabber Girl Baking Powder - GF
  • ½ cup Nestle Chocolate Chips - GF
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 8 tablespoons butter plus more for greasing, chilled and cut into small cubes
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • a handful fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Place a parchment paper on a baking sheet and slightly grease with butter.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, salt and orange zest. Add the butter and incorporate by hand. Followed by half of the chocolate chips.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Then slowly add with the flour mixture. Mix well.
  5. Sprinkle some flour on a work surface. Mold the dough into 1 inch thick disk.
  6. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Gently precut/divide the dough into 8 equal part.
  7. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top. Then sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips.
  8. Bake from 40-45 minutes or until cooked through.
  9. Let the cool before serving.
