
Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 tablespoon plus 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, minced
2 bell peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 white onion, cut into 1 inch pieces
3 green onions, cut diagonally
olive oil
1/3 cup San-J Gluten-Free Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 cup water or more
1/3 teaspoon pepper flakes
salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl. combine the ground beef with the diced onion, 1 tablespoon minced garlic and sprinkle salt and pepper.
- Place a large parchment paper on a work surface.
- Make the meatballs and place them on the parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine the water, cornstarch, sesame oil, soy sauce and brown sugar.
- Heat some oil in a large cast iron pan or non-stick pan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches until cooked through about few minutes. Transfer them on a plate.
- On the same pan, add more oil and sauté the white onion and bell peppers for few minutes.
- Add the meatballs and stir to combine then add the soy sauce mixture. Add more water if you want more sauce. Stir and cook for a minute then adjust seasoning if needed.
- Top with the green onions. Serve.
