Gluten-Free Stir-Fry Meatballs

Gluten-Free Stir-Fry Meatballs

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

1 onion, diced

1 tablespoon plus 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic

3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, minced

2 bell peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces

1 white onion, cut into 1 inch pieces

3 green onions, cut diagonally

olive oil

1/3 cup San-J Gluten-Free Soy Sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

3/4 cup water or more

1/3 teaspoon pepper flakes

salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl. combine the ground beef with the diced onion, 1 tablespoon minced garlic and sprinkle salt and pepper.
  2. Place a large parchment paper on a work surface.
  3. Make the meatballs and place them on the parchment paper.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the water, cornstarch, sesame oil, soy sauce and brown sugar.
  5. Heat some oil in a large cast iron pan or non-stick pan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches until cooked through about few minutes. Transfer them on a plate.
  6. On the same pan, add more oil and sauté the white onion and bell peppers for few minutes.
  7. Add the meatballs and stir to combine then add the soy sauce mixture. Add more water if you want more sauce. Stir and cook for a minute then adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Top with the green onions. Serve.
