1½ tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small cubes (to dot the top)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Butter a 9 inch springform pan.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, butter, vanilla and eggs. Beat using a handheld electric beater until smooth. Add the flour mixture and stir to incorporate. Pour the batter in the prepared pan.
In a large bowl combine the apples, cinnamon and ¼ cup sugar. Arrange the apple slices overlapping from the outer to the center of the cake. Dot with butter and place on a baking pan lined with aluminum foil to catch any drippings. Bake from 45 to 50 minutes or until cook through. Ready!
